The Registered Nurse Intern (RN Intern) will work closely with the Nurse Manager, Lead Nurses and other nursing department staff members with the goal of learning more about the care of the radiation oncology patient. Some of these day-to-day tasks may include communicating with patients and staff via phone or email, rooming patients, and other department-related duties. In addition, the RN Intern will observe the work of the clinic nurses and nurse navigators under the guidance of the Lead Nurse Team.

Observe RNs with preparing for consultations, on treatment visits and follow-ups to gain knowledge of radiation oncology nursing care.

Support communication with referring providers and their office staff under the guidance of the nursing team. Comply with all New York Proton Center policies related to Privacy Rules established under the Health Information Privacy and Portability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).

Registered Nurse with Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Desire to increase knowledge in Radiation Oncology Nursing

Strong computer skills
