Description

Exciting opportunity to support the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program (FBM) as a Hardware Engineer in a 63‑year‑old program with a strong history of mission success.

Location

This position does not support teleworking and will be based near the Lockheed Martin Space facility in Englewood or Littleton, CO. A flexible 9x80 schedule is required.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in requirements analysis, configuration determination, design, alterations, material procurement, manufacturing, test, and acceptance for electrical and electromechanical test systems supporting the US Navy’s Ballistic Missile Flight Test Program.

Mentor junior engineers and interface extensively with customers and senior leadership.

Create and update project/process documentation that aligns with project requirements.

Lead the design, procurement, assembly, test, and verification of automated test systems, including data review and trending.

Develop hardware requirements from subsystem to all locally assigned support equipment test systems.

Interface with suppliers, customers, and internal design teams to provide cost‑effective and low‑risk solutions.

Develop test system design documentation to communicate proposed designs to internal teams, vendors, and customers.

Support Failure Review Board activities through closure.

Travel and work at alternate work sites as required, less than 25% of the time.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience in electrical hardware design and test.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Hardware development and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) experience.

Experience with interconnect design.

Experience with Creo, Windchill, Zuken, or Pspice.

Experience leading project teams and development efforts.

Ability to work autonomously and drive items to closure.

Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement).

Issue tracking experience.

Must obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance; US citizenship is required.

Desired Skills

Capability to lead a team responsible for development and testing of integrated test systems, with subject‑matter expertise.

Experience with Telemetry Data Processing (TDP).

Experience working with RF.

Demonstrated ability to lead/coordinate small diverse teams in product development.

Reading schematic diagrams and other technical documentation.

Troubleshooting system‑level issues.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
