Surgery - Surgeon (Physician #)
New Mexico Donor Services
Sierra Donor Services - New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a board-certified Organ Recovery Surgeon to assist with the clinical, operational and research activities.
Supports compliance to CMS and UNOS regulations and AOPO standards and/or other medical/legal requirements.
Provides education and training to OPO staff and hospital personnel involved in the donation process.
Serves as an advisor between the organization and hospital staff when organ procurement is in progress.
The ideal candidate will have the following education and work experience qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), board certified in general surgery with a current licensure
- 5+ years of experience in organ recovery and transplantation, medical management of organ donors, and/or in critical care
- Availability for weekdays and weekends of donor recovery call (number of call days to be determined)
- New employees must have their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by their potential start date or be able to supply proof of vaccination.*
