EHS Industrial Hygienist

Industrial HygienistKeene State College invites applications for an Industrial Hygienist who will work with the WorkWISE NH team to provide New Hampshire employers (particularly small businesses) with consultative services to explain and interpret OSHA standards and industrial hygiene protocols, advise on policy/protocol development, and identify solutions for workplace health hazards. This is a full-time, year-round, grant-funded position. The position is contingent upon grant funding; continuance of the grant is expected upon grant renewal conditions and grant funding.WorkWISE NH provides free, on-site consultative services to eligible employers throughout New Hampshire. Although these services are primarily targeted to small businesses with less than 250 employees, the program welcomes the opportunity to assist employers of any size. Whether an employer has a question about the safe use of a specific piece of equipment or is looking to establish a workplace safety program, highly qualified consultants are available to provide employers with such assistance.Duties/ResponsibilitiesConducting industrial hygiene assessments, such as air sampling, noise monitoring, and chemical exposure evaluations, to assess and mitigate workplace health risks.These duties include travel to and from employer worksites and facilities.TrainingDesign, develop, and deliver training regarding safety topics/issues.Report GenerationProvide accurate accounting of issues and remedies and data regarding consultant determinations.Required Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in environmental health and safety or related discipline and at least 3 years of experience in Industrial Hygiene practices.Effective oral and written communication skills to interact and communicate environmental health and safety procedures to small and medium size businesses in New Hampshire.Ability to work effectively with managers, supervisors, and employees under stressful conditions.Ability to respond promptly and in-person to client locations throughout New Hampshire that require environmental health and safety services.Ability to wear and use appropriate protective equipment as necessary.Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the program.Knowledge of laws concerning workplace environmental, health, and safety.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree and 5 years of related experience preferred.Applicant Instructions:Applicants should be prepared to upload the following documents when applying online within the My Experience: Resume/CV section of the application: (Maximum of 5 Documents)Resume/CVCover LetterContact Information for 3 Professional ReferencesApplications that are missing any of the required items may not move forward for consideration.
