Advanced Practice Provider - Family Medicine - Part-time
ALLERGY & RHEUMATOLOGY SPECIALISTS OF HOUSTON
We are seeking a clinically strong and organized Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Internal Medicine or Family Medicine experience to join our outpatient practice in Houston. This part‑time role offers a structured, team‑based environment with a balanced mix of independent patient care and collaborative physician support.
Schedule
1-hour lunch break (unpaid)
See stable, straightforward follow‑up patients (16 patients/day total)
Manage chronic conditions such as: Osteoporosis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Gout, Allergic rhinitis (kids and adults), Asthma (maintenance care) (kids and adults), Atopic Dermatitis (kids and adults)
Conduct Principal Care Management (PCM) visits (including phone‑based visits)
Work directly with the physician to evaluate more complex patients
Obtain and organize detailed histories
Present concise summaries to support efficient, team‑based decision‑making
Participate in shared management of higher‑complexity cases
Allergy procedures, immunotherapy injections and IV infusions are highly protocol‑driven
APP role includes:
Clinical oversight
Patient counseling (allergy shots, inhalers, environmental controls)
Availability for evaluation of any adverse reactions
Documentation
EMR: eClinicalWorks
AI scribe support provided to minimize documentation burden and after-hours charting
Support & Training
Ongoing physician availability (phone/video) at all times
Structured clinical protocols for allergy and infusion care
Optional participation in clinical research trials
Qualifications
Licensed NP or PA in Texas
Prior outpatient Internal Medicine or Family Medicine experience required
Strong clinical judgment and organizational skills
Excellent communication and patient education abilities
