HighVoltage Substation Physical Design
Bills of materials, bid units, and material counts

Equipment and conductor sizing
Rigid bus strength
Technical Tools & Software
Experience with electrical system analysis tools preferred (ASPEN, ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, PSLF, CDEGS, WinIGS)
Familiarity with design tools preferred (Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, MicroStation)
Project Coordination
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines as needed
Conduct site visits for data gathering and asbuilts
Evaluate contractor bids
Quality & Construction Support
Support factory acceptance testing
Provide field support during construction and commissioning
Help teach and mentor junior engineers and design staff
Participate in occasional overnight travel for client meetings or site visits

A successful Substation Engineer should have:
