The Underwriter is responsible for evaluating, pricing, and managing stop loss and level-funded medical risk opportunities. Underwrite new business and renewal applications, assessing risk to determine appropriate terms, pricing and conditions.

Analyze census data, claims history, plan design and other risk characteristics to develop informed underwriting decisions.

Document underwriting rationale thoroughly to ensure compliance and audit readiness.

Support modernization efforts, reporting enhancements and process improvement initiatives.

Partner cross-functionally with actuarial, operations, and sales teams to support business objectives.

Apply sound judgment and risk assessment within established underwriting authority levels.

3+ years of underwriting experience in stop loss, level-funded, or employee benefits insurance

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into sound underwriting decisions
