Litigation Law Paralegal

This role provides support to attorneys in the Litigation practice.

Proofread, edit, and cite check fact and legal citations in memorandums and briefs

Proficient using litigation research tools like Westlaw, Lexis, and Pacer

Coordinate with case team and e-Discovery personnel on all aspects of data collection

review discovery materials by performing relevance, confidentiality, and privilege reviews

Analyze and summarize documents, interrogatories, and other factual information, including sophisticated or technical information related to legal issues

perform due diligence research by searching Secretary of State information, corporate profiles, prior litigation, recent press and social media postings

Act as liaison with Document Services and other departments to coordinate TOC/TOA, final formatting, and specialized printing of briefs, per guidelines in various jurisdictions

Attend and provide support at Trial, which includes: monitoring documents and evidence; preparing and monitoring visual aids; mentoring junior paralegal trial team members

Qualifications Education/Training/Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree required

Paralegal certificate from ABA approved paralegal program preferred

At least six years of substantive litigation experience as a Litigation Paralegal in a law firm setting required

Proficient with Microsoft Suite

Knowledge of Relativity and general database management

Working knowledge with legal case management software such as OPUS 2 preferred

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
