6400 is a 26-bed behavioral health unit dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. Our department specializes in behavioral health crises, and while we occasionally handle medical issues, patients are medically cleared prior to admission to our unit.
As an RN Resident on the team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey, alongside a success coach. In this role, you will help patients who are struggling with mental health challenges and provide them with compassionate care and support, while also learning valuable skills in crisis intervention, de-escalation, communication and therapeutic rapport. Caregivers often remain employed in Behavioral Health because of the deep connections they establish with colleagues and many consider their team to be a second family. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.
A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 P M 7:30 A M, including rotating weekends and 3 holidays per year.
Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
Respond to data indicating risk to patients' health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
Document in patients' medical records.
Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
