Oncology Hospice Nurse

Role: Registered Nurse providing evidence-based oncology care in inpatient units, supporting a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, and manage symptoms for adult oncology patients.
Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, supportive therapies, and manage central venous access devices following protocols and safety standards.
Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, self-care, and discharge instructions; coordinate care and referrals.
Ensure accurate documentation in electronic medical records, participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives, and support clinical research protocols.
Collaborate with healthcare team members, serve as preceptor or charge nurse, and support team communication and patient throughput.
Qualifications & Skills Current unrestricted RN license in Massachusetts; ONS/ONCC chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification or within 6 months of hire.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred; associate degree with a plan to complete BSN within 4 years.
Experience in acute care, oncology, or infusion settings preferred; proficiency with EMR systems like Epic.
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, patient education, infection prevention, and teamwork skills.
Additional Details Exposure to hazardous drugs and biohazards; adherence to PPE and safety protocols required.
May involve rotating shifts and extended hours to meet patient care needs.
Position involves direct contact with adult oncology patients and families in an inpatient environment.
