Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Adult Services provides programs and services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our dedicated team of over 900 staff ranging from highly-specialized clinicians and nurses to recreational and direct staff professionals, all work to one common goal the happiness, self‑fulfillment and social integration of each adult in our community. As a direct support professional you will assist in daily living activities, including health and hygiene management, cooking, cleaning, recreation and documentation to include shift reports, incident reports and individual progress reports. You will maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional and personal needs of the individuals we serve.

High School Diploma or GED required, diploma's acquired outside of the US must be evaluated. One (1) year of human service experience working with children, adolescents, and adults preferred. The IDEAL candidate will be empathetic, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model. Additionally, you must be able to complete required new hire orientation class, have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs and possess a valid license.

Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Use of protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, and gown. Devereux has a zero‑tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse to occur in our organization. Devereux fosters a culture of reporting abuse, and will cooperate with the authorities to the fullest extent possible.
