The Substation Wireman maintains and preforms repairs, modifications, replacements and installation of a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment systems while adhering to Energy Erector's Safety First Culture. This role supports the construction of new Substations as well as modifications, and upgrades of existing Substations for Electrical Utility Companies.

Have advanced knowledge of the tasks required to perform all phases of substation work in accordance with the power company standards and perform the work as directed by your supervisor.

The Substation knowledge that is required includes hook up and dress transformers, set poles, equipment, and steel structures, adjust switches, and pull and terminate control cables.

Able to work with limited or no supervision.

Understand, communicate and train hand signals required for equipment operation.

This job operates in a field environment. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
