SEASONAL Part-Time Retail Salesperson

$18.00 per hour

The hourly rate is a fixed entry rate for this position and applies to all new hires. While our system may display a pay range, this role’s starting rate is non‑negotiable. Future pay increases are determined by performance, growth, and time in role, in accordance with our compensation policy.

You’ll actively support customers throughout their shopping journey, from answering questions and placing orders to handling returns and solving issues with empathy and precision. What Does a Retail Sales Associate Do?

Engage and connect with customers by asking thoughtful questions to understand each customer’s needs and style preferences.

Show up ready to work, on time, every shift, and communicate proactively about any unexpected absences or challenges.

Approach every customer as a new sales opportunity, educating them on purchase options through POS systems, the Wayfair app, quotes, or online tools.

Share tailored recommendations using your knowledge of Wayfair’s in‑store and endless‑aisle offerings.

Help with carry‑outs, curbside pickups, cancellations, cart retrieval, and product returns while keeping the store clean and organized.

Stay agile and energized amid frequent product, promotion, and operational changes.

Contribute to store success through replenishment, backfills, floor sets, and sharing fresh ideas.

Provide personalized support and proactive solutions that make Wayfair a go‑to shopping destination.

Support Wayfair’s total store goals by cross‑training across key store functions, including sales and back‑of‑house operations, and flex where needed to support customers, teammates, store needs, and peak business periods.

You’ll Thrive In This Role If You Have

1+ year of experience in retail sales or customer‑facing roles. Experience in interior design or specialty sales is a plus.

Open availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

Comfortable using mobile devices, store apps, inventory tools, and POS systems.

Strong sales instincts combined with great communication, organization, and relationship‑building skills.

Ability to juggle multiple customers or tasks at once while staying focused and accurate.

Additional Physical And Environmental Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling.

Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day.

Lifting up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis; heavier items may require assistance or equipment.

Ability to adjust focus for close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception.

Comfortable in environments with varying temperature conditions.

Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and physical activity.

Adherence to all safety protocols with minimal exposure to workplace or environmental hazards.
