Registered Nurse – PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 Weeks) | Days | Onsite | Shifts vary between 8 and 10 hours within the hours of 07:00–20:30; every other weekend required; on-call required
Key Responsibilities
Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients in the PACU setting
Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, identifying and responding to changes in condition
Administer medications and interventions per physician orders and established protocols
Participate in on-call shifts as scheduled, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays
Float within specialty, to other units, and to sister facilities within scope of practice as required
Collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe and effective patient transitions
Required Qualifications
Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license at time of submission
Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
Current PALS certification (American Heart Association only)
CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor)
Willingness and ability to float within scope with no restrictions; comfort with on-call and weekend scheduling requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior travel nursing experience in a PACU or perioperative setting
NRP or AAP certification
Experience caring for a broad patient age range including pediatrics through adults
