Position Overview Gansevoort Meatpacking is seeking an experienced, energetic, and hospitality-driven Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team.

Located in the heart of New York City’s Meatpacking District, Gansevoort is looking for a polished hospitality professional who can deliver exceptional beverage service in a fast-paced, upscale environment. The ideal candidate is confident behind the bar, knowledgeable about classic and contemporary cocktails, and genuinely enjoys creating memorable guest experiences.

Compensation $11.35 per hour + tips

This is a tipped position with significant interaction with hotel guests, restaurant patrons, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages according to Gansevoort recipes and service standards.

Deliver warm, engaging, and professional service while creating a welcoming experience for every guest.

Maintain strong knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, beer, and current beverage offerings.

Accurately enter orders and process guest payments using the POS system.

Maintain a clean, organized, properly stocked, and guest-ready bar throughout each shift.

Complete opening, closing, and assigned side-work responsibilities.

Monitor inventory and communicate product and supply needs to management.

Follow all cash-handling and credit-card procedures.

Check identification and comply with all applicable responsible alcohol-service requirements.

Work collaboratively with servers, barbacks, runners, managers, culinary teams, and other hotel departments.

Maintain composure, professionalism, and attention to detail during high-volume periods.

Anticipate guest needs and promptly address service concerns.

Consistently represent Gansevoort's standards of hospitality and professionalism.

Qualifications

Previous bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, bar, nightlife, or upscale hospitality environment strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer.

Excellent guest-service and communication skills.

Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Polished, professional, and personable demeanor.

Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements associated with bartending.

Must meet all applicable New York requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.

Availability Flexible availability is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be comfortable with a hospitality schedule that varies based on business and operational needs.
