Maintenance CNC Machinist - Manufacturing Plant

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in CNC machining, programming, and factory operations, with proficiency in various machining tools and quality control processes. This role offers an opportunity to work with advanced equipment and contribute to precision manufacturing projects. The position requires hands‑on experience with CNC machinery, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge to ensure high‑quality production standards are met consistently. Use calipers, micrometers, depth and height gauges, gauging and locating fixtures, as well as other fixed and universal gauging equipment such as Sunnen gauges and plug gauges.
Activate units of different types of computerized numerical controls to manufacture a finished machined product by performing a wide range of machining operations to turn, face, bore, drill, thread, ream components with tight tolerances. Make adjustments to offset coordinates to compensate for materials, tooling or machine center conditions.
Inspect own work for correct dimensions and ensure that company quality and quantity standards are maintained and complete required documentation.
Rotate between various department work centers as required and perform other related duties as assigned.
Enters data into ERP system.
Load and unload component piece parts with weights up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications Previous experience and demonstrated proficiency in operating CNC lathe or CNC mill machines, with basic knowledge and some experience of set ups.
Minimum of 1yearCNC experience or related experience, and knowledge of machining principles and methods for computer numerical controlled machine tools required
External candidates will be required to pass a Machinist test which measures mechanical aptitude.
Moderate physical demand required to insert tooling, set up work centers, inspect workpieces and make machine adjustments, which is equivalent to continuously lifting or moving light weight material. Must be able to lift up to 35lbs and stand for an entire shift.

Ability to elevate production and downtime issues to get them resolved in a timely fashion.
Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with Marathon policies and in line with Marathon’s core values.
Manage assembly time/tasks to ensure completion of assigned projects within specified time frame.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Majority of time is spent in a manufacturing production environment with some (but not all) climate‑controlled areas. Personal protective safety equipment must be worn, and proper safety precautions must be observed.
While performing the duties of this job, employees regularly stand and use hands and arms for the duration of their shift.
Employees must regularly lift parts up to 35 pounds.
