RN Med/Surg - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
The RN Med/Surg utilizes the nursing process to provide comprehensive care for patients.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care.
Assess patients' needs and develop appropriate care plans.
Instruct patients and families on post-discharge care.
The RN Med/Surg performs nursing tasks related to physician-prescribed treatments.
Function as a scrub nurse during surgical procedures.
Function as a circulating nurse during surgical procedures.
Recognize and respond to emergencies.
Perform skin assessments and prevent hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPUs).
Care for patients with catheters and prosthetics.
The RN Med/Surg administers medications and IV therapies according to facility policies.
RN Med/Surg - REQUIREMENTS
Completed courses for nursing from an accredited program approved by either the Commission for Education in Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Must have a minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.
