Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Bachelor’s Degree.

None for Med/Surg and Behavioral Health.

One year in acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis.

Two years in acute care for Med/Surg.

Two years in a psychiatric facility for Behavioral Health.

Two years acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis.

Possession of a current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.

For RN in Behavioral Health: Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into the department.

Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.

Dialysis Department: In addition to Basic Life Support, ACLS (AHA) must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the unit.

Behavioral Health Unit: Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role.
