Dawson County Health Department is seeking a part time Registered Nurse 2. As a PH Registered Nurse with Dawson County Health at the Georgia Department of Public Health - District 2, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Under general supervision, provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures. Focus on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Care for populations with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.

Knows vaccine schedules for children and adults

Gives correct needed vaccines to children and adults

Conducts audits for school and day cares

Conducts hearing/vision/dental screenings needed for school attendance

Cross‑trains to TB, Child Health, Family Planning and IDC clinics

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND Current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate’s degree/diploma in Nursing from an accredited college AND One year of PHN experience AND Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.

Ability to work efficiently under established clinic protocols

Ability to complete tasks without detailed supervision

Excellent computer skills

Ability to read, write and speak Spanish
