Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer will support Engineer-to-Order (ETO) products built in Chart's new Teddy 2 facility located in Theodore, AL. The selected candidate will leverage their extensive knowledge of manufacturing and welding processes to improve plant efficiencies and help achieve site goals, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. This role requires the candidate to be onsite full-time.

Plan, organize and implement systems and procedures that will enhance manufacturing production.

Assess production processes toimproveproduct consistency, standardizework procedures, flow, etc.

Implement Lean concepts throughout the plant including 5S, Visual Work, Kanban, etc.

Create and manage technical training programs for production employees.

Interface with various departments in coordinating technical information relating to specific projects.

Project Management of capital equipment projects: identify equipment improvements, ensure on time delivery and within budget.

This position will require the ability to move around the production floor to investigate issues with the production equipment or manufactured and purchased parts.

A minimum of 6 years of experience in a manufacturing, mechanical or industrial engineering role.

Your engineering experience must include working withwelding and fabrication processes.

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, AutoCad, ProE. Prefer experience in SolidWorks.

Understanding of factory metrics and Lean (Operational Excellence) at a minimum with Six Sigma experience a plus.

Proven experience indesigning assembly and welding fixturesfor manufacturing.

Experience managing several projects at once.
