The Programmer will be a hands-on, technical member of the Student Administration Systems team responsible for implementing and maintaining software systems and interfaces to various student information systems including PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. This is an internal customer-facing role, and requires excellent prioritization, responsiveness, highly technical skills, along with excellent verbal communication skills. Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.
Technical Support - Provide daily technical support for users of the Student Administration systems including (but not limited to): CMS PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, DocOrigin, and CSLink based reports. Development and Programming - Perform analysis, detailed program specification, programming, testing, and documentation to expand the functional scope of the Student Administration systems, in order to meet the business needs of the university. Design and implement procedures, software programs, reports, utilities, and documentation to support customer-focused delivery of business data.
Requirements Analysis - Collaborate with Systems and functional teams with Student Administration systems related enhancements and workflows. Assist project teams with gathering functional requirements, design, implementation, training, and ongoing support.
Provide support for third-party systems and applications related to Student Administration processing.
Documentation & Testing - Perform administrative aspects of development, testing, and documentation in accordance with campus and CMS Central policies. This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
Software Developer II
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $6,492 (Step 1) - $7,759 (Step 10) per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
Paid Time Off: Up to 24 vacation days per year (based on employee group and/or length of service), 14 paid holidays, and 12 sick days annually with unlimited accrual.

The ideal candidate will possess a high level of proficiency in ERP systems, with preferred experience in PeopleSoft tools, technologies, and programming languages, including SQL, SQR, App Engine, Application Designer, PeopleCode, PeopleTools, and debugging within a multi-tier distributed architecture. Experience supporting PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Student Administration modules, as well as a working knowledge of the UNIX environment, is highly desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and support peripheral Student Administration applications, collaborate effectively with both technical and functional teams, and share knowledge with peers. In addition, they will have strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities and strong listening skills. Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, or similar degree and two years of related experience required.
