Paralegal for Real Estate Firm

Beztak, a national Real Estate Development, Construction, and Property Management company, wants you to join our family of talented individuals. We are hiring for a Real Estate Paralegal to work in our fast-paced office location in Farmington Hills, Mi.

The Real Estate Paralegal will assist the General Counsel, outside attorneys, and internal risk management department and will be responsible for all aspects of litigation support, including, but not limited to, communication with attorneys, employees, insurance companies, third party claims administrators, witnesses; drafting documents, including correspondence, discovery, disclosures, and other pleadings; providing research support services including document preparation and review; research, investigations, and fact checking.
Meets with attorneys and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
Drafts legal documents, including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories.
Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys.
Collect and organize relevant documents, information, and data for attorney review and case preparation.
Manage discovery, subpoenas, and other document requests. Monitor incoming pleadings, discovery, and other case-related documents.

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Experience with court filing systems and federal, state, and local rules of practice.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required.
Some real estate and/or real estate finance experience preferred, but not required.
