Phlebotomist, Hospital Phlebotomy

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist II to support our client's healthcare facility in Albany, NY 12206.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 7a-4p every other Saturday 7a-1230p
Job Type: Local contract
Contract Length: 03 Months+ with possible extension
Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
Perform venipuncture and specimen collection using straight needles and butterfly needles .
Clearly and courteously explain the blood collection process to patients and address questions or concerns.
Review physician orders and laboratory requisitions to ensure accurate specimen collection.
Accurately label all specimens and verify computer-generated labels against physician orders or requisitions.
Store specimens at the appropriate temperature and in the correct collection containers or tubes.
Update patient information and maintain accurate documentation in laboratory and computer systems.
Comply with OSHA, DEP, laboratory safety, infection-control, and department regulations .
Attend required annual departmental training and maintain knowledge of current procedures.
Answer telephone calls and assist with laboratory-related inquiries as appropriate.
Provide accurate and professional customer service to patients, physicians, and healthcare staff.
High school diploma or GED required.

• Valid Phlebotomy Certification required where applicable by state regulations.
• Minimum of 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced laboratory, hospital, or clinical setting.
• 2-4 years of healthcare or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer systems.
