Head of Project Management

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale engineering and capital investment projects within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for managing projects from concept through completion, coordinating cross-functional teams, controlling budgets and timelines, and ensuring successful execution of strategic capital expenditure initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering foundation, excellent project leadership skills, and demonstrated experience delivering complex manufacturing projects on time and within budget.
Lead engineering and capital projects from initial planning through commissioning and project closeout.
Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and resource requirements.
Manage all phases of project execution including scope definition, design, procurement, construction, installation, startup, and validation.
Coordinate activities among engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, safety, supply chain, contractors, and external vendors.
Monitor project performance against timelines, budgets, and deliverables, providing regular updates to stakeholders and leadership.
Identify and mitigate project risks while implementing corrective actions to maintain project objectives.
Oversee capital expenditure budgets and ensure responsible financial management throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage equipment installations, facility expansions, process improvements, and manufacturing optimization initiatives.
Lead project meetings, document decisions, and drive accountability among project team members.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure project requirements are met.
Support continuous improvement efforts focused on operational efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost reduction.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline required).

• 5+ years of experience managing engineering projects within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading projects from conception through successful completion.
• Proven experience managing large capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, processes, and equipment.
• Experience developing and managing project budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

PMP certification or equivalent project management certification.
Experience with facility expansions, equipment installations, or manufacturing automation projects.
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.
Experience working with contractors, engineering firms, and capital equipment suppliers.
Familiarity with manufacturing systems, ERP platforms, and industrial safety standards.
