Baker [Urgent Need]

Job Title This position is responsible, under supervision, for the quality, timeliness, amount and selection of all products prepared in the bakery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Calculate, measure and mix ingredients according to company recipes to form dough or batter, using electric mixer or beats and stirs ingredients by hand.

Shape and cut dough for doughnuts.

Responsible for the safe use of bakery equipment.

Practice food safety policies and procedures at all times.

Follow daily production sheets and keeps record of doughnuts made.

Operate the fryer, including monitoring the temperature, draining, filtering and cleaning the equipment.

Prepare icings and decorates doughnuts.

Sort doughnuts according to production sheets.

Oversee general quality of the products.

Stock, store, carry and distribute bakery ingredients according to sanitation rules. Notifies supervisor and/or manager when inventory is low.

Document doughnut discrepancies and notifies supervisor and/or manager in a timely manner of variance.

Assess mechanical problems and notifies supervisor and/or manager.

Clean bakery utensils, equipment, and work area.

Ensure that bakery utensils are in acceptable working order. Notifies supervisor and/or manager immediately if utensils are damaged.

Adhere to and reinforce Top Pot policies, procedures and training guidelines.

Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements Qualifications:

Prior bakery knowledge is a plus

Basic computer skills

Demonstrated ability to use sound reasoning and judgment

Work Environment:

The work environment is typical of a commercial bakery environment and employees are constantly working around kitchen appliances such as deep fryers, mixers, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, and to slip hazards, hot surfaces and hot oil hazards. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat (non-weather). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.
