Travel Neurosurgery Registered Nurse

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Med/Surg position on the 4th floor of a 595-bed hospital in Birmingham, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of neuro/neurosurgery experience and AHA certifications.

Job Details

• Work setting is a 595-bed acute care hospital recognized for stroke care, cardiovascular services, and surgical care, accredited by The Joint Commission with Primary Stroke Center certification,
• Unit is the 4th Floor Neuro Med/Surg department, an 18-bed unit focused on neurosurgery and neuroscience patients,
• Patient ratio is 1:6,
• Shift is days, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM,
• Every other weekend required,
• No on-call requirements,
• Floating required on an as-needed basis,
• EMR is Cerner,
• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand; no marks or hits on license accepted,
• Current AHA BLS and AHA NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required - American Red Cross certifications are not accepted,
• Minimum 2 years of recent neuro and/or neurosurgery RN experience required,
• Cerner EMR experience preferred,
• Candidate must provide SSN and DOB for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to neurosurgery and neuroscience patients in an acute care setting,
• Navy blue scrubs required; artificial fingernails are not permitted,
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible - no local candidates accepted,
