Head of Engineering Programme Management

Odyssey Systems is recruiting for a Program Director to lead 180 FTEs. The support required under this effort includes engineering, quality assurance and test support, acquisition support, business management support, logistics and fielding support, operations support, and administrative support. The specific task areas include program management, analysis, planning, studies, liaison, and operations support, strategic communications, engineering and logistics support, new equipment training, system test and product fielding support, acquisition and contracting support, software development and system safety, studies and analysis and quick response support. PM SSV’s mission is to equip, clothe, and protect Soldiers to maximize performance today and provide enhanced capability tomorrow. Product Manager Air Warrior (PdM AW), Product Manager Soldier Clothing and Individual Equipment (PdM SCIE) and Product Manager Soldier Protective Equipment (PdM SPE) are subordinate Product Offices in PM SSV.

Serves as the contractor on-site program manager.

Provides day-to-day direction, management, and oversight for contractor personnel.

Interfaces with Government management to resolve problems.

Resolves contractor personnel problems and issues when identified by the Government lead or Contracting Officers’ Representative (COR).

Interfaces between Government customers, COR, and Contractor

Give on-the-job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices

Assigns work to personnel according to workload, ability, and priority of assignment and provides instruction and assistance as necessary on problems or issues

Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training contractor employees

Responsible for the performance of all contractual requirements

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Previous senior management experience in the delivery of technical and management services (Program Management and Operations execution)

Ability to react quickly in a rapidly changing environment, motivate and manage a team, and support staff.

Ability/experience managing professional personnel in a defense environment.

Ability/experience managing contract execution in a defense environment (hours, vacancies, funding, performance, quality)

Ability/experience managing contract financial execution/tracking/expenditures in a defense environment.

Ability/experience interfacing regularly with Government clients (Military and Civilian) on all aspects of contract execution.

Risk management experience

Ability to manage multiple tasks

Leadership experience with the ability to manage teams

Strong personal organization skills

Travel: 25%

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
