Ace Hotel’s home here is in Boerum Hill on the cusp of Downtown Brooklyn, at a geographical Venn diagram of overlapping energies — from the tree-lined streets and brownstones of Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens all the way down to the restless East River. Working closely with the Front Desk team, the Bell Attendant ensures smooth luggage operations, handles guest inquiries, and maintains a welcoming, clean, and alert presence in the entrance and lobby areas.
Proactively offer guests assistance with baggage in any area of the property.
Place luggage according to guest preference, provide guest room orientation, and offer further assistance before departing.
Be knowledgeable of property facilities, services, hours of operation, in-house events, conferences, and amenities to proactively assist guests.
Resolve guest complaints using property procedures.
Participate in daily pre-shift meetings.
Coordinate operations with other departments, as needed.
Inspecting lobby areas, hotel entrances and garage for cleanliness and maintenance, report deficiencies to appropriate departments and ensure timely completion.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Ability to satisfactorily communicate in verbal and written English with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
Other language, mathematical, and reasoning abilities as outlined below.
Flexible schedule required which includes weekends and holidays.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Individuals should be a High School Graduate and/or any combination of experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability to effectively fulfill the requirements of this job description. LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL, and REASONING ABILITIES Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests.
Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English (additional foreign languages are encouraged and preferred).
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
