Underwriter Position Full Time Insurance

Loss Mitigation Underwriter @ BSI Financial Services
Join BSI Financial Services as a Loss Mitigation Underwriter! This is a full-time position. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with one mandatory Saturday per month. Shifts vary based upon business needs.
Review loan files to determine compliance with lender credit underwriting guidelines and representations and warranties and to ensure an investment quality loan product.

• Works closely with management and executive to enhance process, policies and procedures, and operations manual.
• Review homeowner financial information to determine affordability for potential loan modifications or other various workouts.
• Submission of account information into automated Intellimods system for underwriting decision and processing
• Ability to work within investor/insurer systems such as Neighborhood Watch/SMDU to input data and obtain approvals
• Accurately and efficiently maintain a pipeline of loan file audit/review inventory, meet production requirements, and communicate status to management.
• Facilitate the drafting of final modification agreements, partial claim documents, assumptions, and recast agreements
• Conduct quality control reviews to ensure accuracy of documents
• Ability to locate and transfer legal description and recording information from loan origination documents into Loss Mitigation workout documents when necessary.
• Facilitate training for new underwriters and processors
• Meet any daily production quotas and quality assurance guidelines as assigned by manager

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• Minimum of 5 years loss mitigation or mortgage default related experience
• Knowledge of Mortgage industry, preferred
• Prior experience in debt collection, preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PDF Conversions
• Ability to independently manage daily tasks and short-term projects
