Key Responsibilities
Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned telemetry patients.
Care for patients presenting with MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and med-surg overflow; manage cardiac drips as appropriate per unit protocol.
Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed therapies.
Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education and identify appropriate resources.
Required Qualifications
Current RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Ability to work every other weekend as part of the standard schedule.
Ability to work 36 or 48 hours per week per guaranteed schedule options.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Minimum of one year of experience in a telemetry or related nursing specialty.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience managing cardiac drips in a telemetry or step-down setting.
