Boilermaker Journeyman (Nights)

Location: Lake Charles, LA.

CITGO is seeking to hire exceptional Boilermakers who can provide maintenance field expertise for operations at the Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex.

Responsibilities and Skills

Basic craft knowledge of straight and U‑tube exchangers, furnaces, process boilers, vessels utilizing screens, filters, and towers.

Familiar with major parts of exchangers, furnaces, boilers, and towers.

Ability to test and plug exchanger tubes, test furnaces and boilers, and clean burners on both.

Possess basic rigging skills and go‑devil (carry deck) operation skills, forklift and man lift operation skills, and use of fresh air equipment.

Familiarity with bolting procedures, torquing, and gasket installation best practices.

Knowledge of heat exchanger inspection, bundle pulling, and reinstallation procedures.

Ability to work day and night, be available for overtime, and climb ladders or work at high locations.

Requirements

Graduate apprentice or vocational technical school plus four years industrial experience as a journeyman level Boilermaker, OR

8 years of industrial experience as a journeyman level Boilermaker.

Supervisory and/or planning experience preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credentials Card). Must successfully complete assessments, background checks, and medical exams.
