Lutheran Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 10-bed unit that provides RN-based care for medical and surgical patients with complex conditions requiring intensive medical and supportive treatment, including telemetry monitoring for specific diagnoses such as new arrhythmias. The ICU team includes Critical Care Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and operates within a highly engaged work environment where caregivers actively participate in shared governance and community outreach.As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.

A caregiver in this role works nights from 7:00 p.m. – with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.

Provide direct nursing care.

Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.

Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.

Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment

One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 3 years

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
