Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room / Surgical Services (Circulator)

Be the steady advocate for patient safety in the OR. As a Surgical Services RN at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC), you'll lead the room as the circulating nursecoordinating care, safeguarding sterile technique, and ensuring every detail is right from "wheels in" to handoff. Provide professional, evidence-based perioperative nursing care with primary responsibility as circulating nurse in the operating room. You'll verify readiness, coordinate the surgical team, protect sterile fields, maintain accurate documentation and counts, and champion patient comfort and safety throughout the surgical experience.

Function as the circulating RN for assigned surgical cases; coordinate surgeons, anesthesia, and scrub staff for safe, efficient workflows.

Complete pre-procedure readiness: verify H&P, consents, pre-op checklist, anesthesia record, and required labs/imaging; document per policy.

maintain strict aseptic technique and infection prevention practices.

Perform, document, and reconcile sponge/needle/instrument counts per policy; escalate discrepancies immediately.

complete nursing notes and patient charges in the EHR.

Participate in call rotation; respond within required timeframes to support urgent/emergent cases.

Support a positive, collaborative culture with physicians and interprofessional team members.

Operating Room RN, OR Circulator, Surgical Services, Perioperative Nurse, AORN, sterile technique, counts, specimen handling, documentation, EHR/EMR, patient positioning, infection prevention, ACLS, BLS, CNOR preferred, call rotation.

Current Arkansas Registered Nurse (RN) license (or compact RN eligibility).

ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Successful completion of facility medication/pharmacology competency during orientation (per policy).

Prior Operating Room/Perioperative nursing experience; knowledge of OR policies, asepsis, and surgical workflows.
