Welder/Fitter - Flux Core (FCAW)
Location: Decatur, AL
Pay: $23.00-$26.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Full-Time | Overtime Available | Long-Term Opportunity
Texas Trades is seeking experienced Welder/Fitters for Turner/xPL's off-site manufacturing facility , fabricating HAX systems and components for large-scale data center projects . This is a long-term opportunity for skilled professionals who can both fit and weld structural steel components in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Responsibilities

Fit and weld structural steel assemblies from blueprints and shop drawings
Perform FCAW (Flux Core) welding on carbon steel
Measure, align, and tack materials to specification before welding
Maintain quality workmanship while meeting production schedules
Follow all shop safety and quality standards
Qualifications

Previous Welder/Fitter experience is required
Flux Core (FCAW) experience strongly preferred
Must be able to read and interpret fabrication drawings
Experience fitting structural steel and fabricated assemblies
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete an on-site weld test before hire. The test includes:

• 3G Vertical (Uphill) V-Groove
• 4G Overhead V-Groove
• FCAW (Flux Core) process
• Stringer beads only (no weave pattern)
• Visual inspection followed by a 2-side bend test
• Time limit: 4 hours
• Candidates must also demonstrate fitting ability during the evaluation.

Welding hood
Leather gloves
Chipping hammer and wire brush
Long sleeves or FRC shirt
Clear safety glasses
Hard hat and high-visibility vest (can be provided if needed)
What We Offer
$23.00-$26.00/hour DOE Raises are given once you go perm with client.
Full-time hours with overtime available
