Unit/Department: MS-Tele Float

• Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 based on acuity
• Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Common diagnoses/Types of patients "Population: Adults- Geriatrics

Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology-post surgicals, General Surgery-post appy, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, General Medicine, stable long term placement patients, and more"

- Experience or 'Must have' skills: "Must have 2 years of MS-Tele experience

Prefer prior neuro experience"

• Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Heparin
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Designated Charge on each unit; doesn't take a patient assignment unless necessary; more common for night shift charge to end up with a small pt assignment
• Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes
• RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Yes
• Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): "7-7, Schedule is made out by leadership for 6 wks at a time, travelers are expected to be flexible and help to fill gaps in permanent scheduling.
• All time off requests need to be submitted prior to starting assignment"
• Weekend Requirements: 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule
• Holiday Requirements : May be asked to go into the Holiday Rotation
• Is there a call or standby requirement?: Rare, for low census
• How are units assigned? i.e. via text message, daily sheet assignments, set schedule?: "May be asked to float into any other acuity level; ICU (take low acuity holds with skillset), PCU/Stepdown, & MS-Tele
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any Color
