Respiratory Therapist
This is a 13-week contract position.
Night Shift: 3x12 hours
The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory treatment and transporting patients as medically prescribed. The therapist assesses patient needs, recommends treatment plans, and educates patients on treatment procedures and equipment usage prior to discharge.
Responsibilities:

Evaluate patients and develop treatment plans based on medical prescriptions.
Administer physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory and aerosol devices.
Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using various methods.
Conduct oximetry and capnography monitoring as per policy.
Review patient's chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies.
Assist with respiratory care procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
Handle tracheostomy care and arterial puncture according to policy.
Perform routine maintenance and monitor mechanical ventilators.
Document patient treatments and responses accurately in medical records.
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient therapy.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
Knowledge of BLS and ACLS protocols.
Experience with a variety of respiratory equipment and procedures.
