Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring Level I trauma experience and NC or compact licensure.
Details

• Medical Intensive Care Unit setting in a hospital environment
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Possible on-call if census is low
• EPIC charting experience required
• 12-week contract

Active RN license (NC or Compact) required, must be in hand
BLS and ACLS certifications required
NIHSS or Stroke certification required
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
Level I trauma experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and ETT/NT suctioning
Experience interpreting ABGs and managing respiratory failure
Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
Experience with continuous IV sedation and emergency medications
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12 lead EKG acquisition
Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
Experience with IV insulin protocols
Must pass an EKG/Telemetry exam onsite during orientation
Additional Information

Care for critically ill ICU patients requiring advanced respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and renal interventions
Royal blue scrub color required
Biweekly orientation schedule
Flu vaccine required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have worked there within the past 6 months
RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
