We deliver integrated design solutions across workplace, healthcare, federal, education, mission‑critical, and advanced technology markets, with a strong focus on quality, performance, and collaboration.The role provides exposure to a broad range of facilities, including federal and DoD installations, laboratories and cleanrooms, aviation and transportation infrastructure, higher education, cultural facilities, historic renovations, and industrial/manufacturing sites.The engineer will contribute to the analysis, design, and documentation of code-compliant fire protection systems in accordance with applicable NFPA standards and International Building and Fire Codes.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform defined portions of fire protection engineering assignments under the supervision of senior engineers.Collect, analyze, and correlate engineering data using established procedures and standards.Prepare calculations and technical documentation for routine fire protection and life safety systems.Assist in the development of engineering approaches for non-standard design challenges.Provide technical guidance to entry-level staff as needed.Execute work in accordance with project scope, budget, and schedule requirements.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 2+ years of relevant fire protection or related engineering experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience using Revit and AutoCAD.Working knowledge of NFPA standards and International Building and Fire Codes.Experience in the design of fire sprinkler and/or fire alarm systems.Depending on your employment status, AECOM benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability benefits, paid time off, leaves of absences, voluntary benefits, perks, flexible work options, well-being resources, employee assistance program, business travel insurance, service recognition awards, retirement savings plan, and employee stock purchase plan.
