Respiratory Care (RRT)/Travel

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience and CRT or RRT certification.

Job Details

• Acute care setting within a Level 1 trauma hospital,
• Covers all inpatient floors and areas of the hospital, treating patients from neonates to geriatrics,
• Performs EKGs, bedside bronchoscopies, and bedside spirometry,
• Uses ventilators (Drager, Servo I, Carefusion for Heliox and NICU use), BiPAP (Vision, V60, V30, Respironics S/T), and High Flow (Airvo2) equipment,
• Utilizes EPIC EMR,
• 12-hour day shifts on a 7-7 schedule with team scheduling,
• Weekend rotation of every third weekend on days,
• Floats to different areas throughout the hospital in the RT capacity,
• 36 hours per week,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required, with recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience,
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS certification required,
• CRT or RRT certification required via NBRC,
• NRP and PALS certifications preferred,
• Active state or compact (NLC) license required for the state of submission; license required if applicable,
• EPIC EMR experience preferred,
• Driver's license copy required for submission,
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility,

Additional Information

• Work alongside an in-house hospitalist or intensivist available 24/7,
• A Lead Respiratory Therapist is present on each shift, though travelers will never be the sole RT in-house,
• Holiday coverage rotates with permanent staff,
• Unit orientation consists of three 12-hour shifts,

• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to remove them will result in contract termination,
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility,
• Candidates may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year,
• Up to 7 days of RTO must be requested upfront for the 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved after submission
