SE is a nonprofit 501(c)3 whose mission is to transform the lives of those impacted by racial or socio-economic barriers through Personal Empowerment, career training, and meaningful employment. Our vision is a community where all individuals, especially people of color, have attained financial independence through employment success.

Our 8-week career training programs provide participants with the skills needed to be successful on any job. Our training focuses on individual development, Personal Empowerment, Career Training, and the 21st Century Skills that today’s employers are looking for. Graduates of this program typically double or triple their annual income. Our career coaches help participants develop a career plan while providing them with the resources and placement connections needed to achieve their goals.

Employers hire TCR graduates because they value that TCR graduates apply their Personal Empowerment skills leading to accountability, responsibility, conflict resolution, positive interaction, attendance and long-term change. They also know TCR graduates receive continued coaching services through the end of the first year of employment and that over 70% of TCR graduates stay at their job 1+ years, well above the general average.

Our Personal Empowerment Training curriculum that provides transformative Emotional Intelligence Training has been designed by The Empowerment Institute at Twin Cities R!Not only do our TCR program participants benefit from this training, The Empowerment Institute partners with businesses, schools, universities, and nonprofits to help them create their own empowered cultures within these organizations.

Executive Assistant

Administration

Part Time (20 hours per week)

The Executive Assistant provides administrative and executive support to optimize the day-to-day effectiveness of the President/CEO. This role primarily supports calendar management, scheduling coordination, email and correspondence organization, meeting logistics, and administrative follow-through. The position serves as a professional point of coordination for internal and external communication and requires strong organization, discretion, responsiveness, and attention to detail

Serve as an administrative point of contact for internal and external communication on behalf of the President/CEO, ensuring timely follow-up and coordination.

Draft, proofread, organize, and manage routine correspondence, calendar responses, meeting communications, and administrative documents on behalf of the President/CEO, upholding the highest standards of clarity, accuracy, and professionalism.

Manage the President/CEO’s calendar, including scheduling and confirming internal and external appointments, coordinating meeting logistics, preparing necessary materials and assisting the President/CEO in time management.

Provide administrative support for board and leadership meetings, including scheduling, meeting logistics, preparation of materials, and distribution of information as assigned.

Coordinate meeting logistics, scheduling, reminders, and materials for leadership and organizational meetings.

Maintain organized administrative systems and workflows that support efficient executive office operations.

provide thoughtful recommendations and draft appropriate responses as needed.

Collaborate with the leadership team on special initiatives, projects, and events, offering administrative and strategic support to advance the organization's mission.

Provide administrative support for organizational events, meetings, and special projects as assigned.

Develop and maintain systems for filing and recordkeeping of organizational documents, board materials, and other confidential information.

Assist with internal meeting coordination, communication distribution, and basic document or presentation preparation.

Administrative Follow-Up & Filing - 10%

Miscellaneous Projects - 10%

SUPERVISION: This position does not provide supervision to any staff.

Required to occasionally move about in an office environment to access file cabinets, printers, etc., Ability to lift light materials and equipment in the typical office environment (up to 15 pounds).

Ability to be on video calls, with camera on, for all meetings.

Typical office environment

Occasional evenings and/or weekends will be required (workweek will be adjusted accordingly).

Travel requirements: Position will be expected to travel throughout the Twin Cities metro area to attend meetings and other events.

Location/structure of work: employee will be expected to work in the TCR office weekly.

One (1) year of experience supporting organizational operations, coordination, project management, customer/client service, communications, administrative functions, or other professional work

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams), Adobe Acrobat, and cloud-based file systems such as Google Drive and SharePoint.

Strong organizational, administrative coordination, and time management skills, including the ability to manage complex calendars, schedules, communications, and multiple concurrent priorities.

Ability to prioritize effectively, manage competing demands, and adapt to changing priorities and urgent requests.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear, concise, and professional correspondence and reports.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple administrative priorities, schedules, and communications with professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail.

Ability to coordinate meetings and events, including scheduling, logistics, agenda preparation, materials distribution, and follow-up.

Knowledge of information management systems, including shared drives, digital filing systems, and board portals.

Proficiency using standard office technology and collaboration tools to support communication, scheduling, and document management.
