Job Title: General Production Worker Wrapper (1st Shift) Job Description

Working on 1st shift (5:30 AM 2:00 PM) in Southington, CT, you will handle packaging materials, operate warehouse equipment, and ensure orders are staged accurately and safely for delivery.

Place safety first in every task and follow all safety procedures when operating equipment and handling materials.

Inspect materials for physical damage or defects prior to packaging to ensure product quality.

Select appropriate packaging materials to protect products from damage during transit.

Measure materials accurately using tape measures and other measuring devices.

Operate banding equipment and nail guns safely and efficiently.

Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move and position materials and packaged orders.

Scan and stage orders in the correct shipping and loading zones to maintain organized workflow.

Monitor linear footage of wood used to package export orders and ensure proper usage and documentation.

Perform additional warehouse duties as directed, supporting overall operations and productivity.

Ability to prioritize and practice safety at all times in a safety-sensitive environment involving heavy machinery.

Ability to read and understand English to follow written and verbal work instructions.

Experience operating forklifts, with prior forklift operation strongly preferred.

Demonstrated history of working safely and productively in a warehouse, shipping, receiving, or general labor environment.

Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including lifting heavy materials.

Willingness to work required overtime when needed to support operations.

High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.

Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, and general labor experience is beneficial.

Comfort using banding tools, nail guns, and other basic warehouse equipment.

Ability to operate overhead cranes safely after training.

Strong attention to detail when inspecting materials and measuring packaging components.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southington, CT.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
