Temporary Production Carpenter

SUMMARY  Mortenson is currently seeking a Carpenter II Lead that will be responsible for structural concrete construction in compliance with local building codes and general construction principals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up trailers Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and measure dimensions Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures; install shelves, setup tool trailers/conex’s Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms Lead journeyman and assist foreman with shooting grades and elevations Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials Perform concrete and rough carpentry (hand set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks) Work autonomously under minimal direction from carpenter foreman to lead small crews in the safe execution of concrete work Track quantities and hours to analyze production rates and report to carpenter foreman and superintendent Identify material, consumables, and safety equipment needs well in advance to support proactive project planning with the assistance of carpenter foreman and superintendent Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels; perform all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of seven (7) years carpentry experience
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma preferred
• Ability to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, and speak and understand English
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
