Senior Software Engineer (Unique)

Ciklum is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Unique) to join our team full-time in Ukraine. As a Senior Software Engineer (Unique), become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. On behalf of Ciklum Digital Engineering Team, we are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the team on a full-time basis. Back-end development to meet customer's business needs and implement components according to modern software development environment

Taking part in the decision-making process in application code design, solution development, code review

Develop and review feature design documents and provide inputs/update to specifications for the solution

Design and implement a set of various types of tests (unit, integration, functional, etc)

Proactive position in solution development, processes improvements

Working in an international distributed team in an Agile environment

To use high coding standards, software best practices and write highly testable, automatable and performant code over the whole SDLC

Experience in software development for more than 5 years

Strong knowledge in Computer Science, Computing Theory:

Database theory (RDBMS)

Code testing practices

Data structures

Understanding of network interactions

Strong knowledge and experience in Java (more than 5 years)

Knowledge of Kotlin / Reactive programming experience (Spring Boot)

Good knowledge and experience in Golang

Experience building high-traffic/high-load distributed systems

Proven expertise in performance optimization and scalability

Experience analyzing production performance and latency issues

Big Plus: Ops insights, comfortable with Linux, command lines, Kubernetes

Testing frameworks (e.g., g MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle)

Web Servers

Gitlab Pipeline, Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo)

Plus: Node.js / Typescript experience (for AWS Lambda)

Plus: AWS experience (Aurora, Lambda, Step Functions, etc.)

Agile software processes and technologies

Upper-Intermediate English

Deployment patterns

Practical commercial experience with

RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, ActiveMQ, AWS SQS, AzureService Bus, Google Pub/Sub)

Cloud solutions (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure)

Quality tools (e.g. Strong community: Take on large-scale projects with a global impact and expand your expertise
