Role Description The Sales Associate role is a full‑time, on‑site position based at the Jared Jewelers store in Algonquin, IL. In this role, the Sales Associate engages customers on the sales floor, provides knowledgeable guidance on jewelry selections, and delivers an exceptional, personalized shopping experience. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include greeting customers, identifying their needs, presenting product options, processing sales and returns, and maintaining accurate point‑of‑sale transactions. The Sales Associate also helps with visual merchandising, stock replenishment, store cleanliness, and adherence to security and loss prevention procedures. Collaboration with team members, participation in product and sales training, and meeting individual and store performance goals are key aspects of the role.
Qualifications Customer service and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to create welcoming, trust‑based interactions.
Sales and upselling abilities, including product presentation, closing techniques, and comfort working toward performance goals.
Basic retail operations skills, including point‑of‑sale use, cash handling accuracy, and attention to detail with transactions.
Interest in jewelry, fashion, or luxury retail, with willingness to learn product details such as metals, gemstones, and care.
Ability to stand for extended periods, move between sales floor and stock areas, and follow safety and security procedures.
Teamwork and reliability, including consistent attendance, flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Previous retail or customer‑facing experience is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
