LVN - Public Health Nurse

The Department of Public Health is recruiting for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN II) who assist medical staff with treatments and procedures and provide health education, referrals, and resources to patients.
Responsibilities
Provide basic nursing care to patients.
Assist physicians and registered nurses with a variety of procedures.
Provide education and training for medical providers.
Manage medication and vaccines, including handling, storing, ordering, reporting, and administration.
Qualifications
Valid Vocational Nurse License issued by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (CA BVNPT).
Valid Intravenous (IV) Therapy/Blood Withdrawal certification approved by CA BVNPT.
Valid Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of employment start.
One (1) year of full‑time equivalent experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in a clinic or outpatient care setting.
Fluency in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and/or Vietnamese strongly encouraged; additional compensation may be associated.
Travel throughout the County may be required; employees must have a valid driver’s license.
Must pass background investigation, verification of employment history and education, fingerprinting, physical exam, and drug screening.

Licensure and certification must be obtained prior to employment start and maintained throughout.
