Paralegal, General Liability

Zurich North America’s Staff Legal Office is currently hiring a Paralegal to join our Staff Legal team! Working under the supervision of an attorney, the successful candidate will support moderate to complex general liability litigation cases.

While our model provides a high level of flexibility and autonomy, occasional circumstances requiring in-office attendance should be expected.

This is a hybrid work position, however, the candidate selected for this opportunity should be able to report into the following North American office location: Provides legal support to remote attorneys

Drafts legal pleadings, correspondence, and other documents as directed

Conducts interviews, reviews and summarizes depositions, discovery responses and medical records

Drafts discovery requests and responses

Schedules surveillance, medical exams, and site inspections

Responds to inquiries from and interacts with customers, clients, counsel, and witnesses

Conducts legal research using LexisNexis and other electronic databases.

Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed

Collaborates with attorneys, staff, claims professionals and leadership to accomplish successful business and litigation outcomes.

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Legal Support area

Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Legal Support area

Experience conducting electronic database research

Experience drafting legal documents, correspondence, and/or pleadings

Experience in legal support

Experience with Microsoft Office

Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications with strong overall technical skills.

Experience working with litigation management software systems.

Experience with E-filing systems in various local (county), state and federal courts.

Ability to navigate various courts through knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure and local court rules.

Experience navigating Clerk, Court and Judicial websites

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The proposed Hourly rate for this position is $28.80 - 47.21, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 5%.
