Description:
This position requires a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience.
First-time travelers are accepted.
Certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and FHM are required.
Locals are not accepted for this position.
Float requirements are essential.
Candidates must be able to float to Client Child Health as needed.
In-state licenses and required certifications must be available prior to submission.
Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
This position follows established staffing guidelines for patient ratios.
Typical patient ratios are 1:1 for active labor and 1:2 for non-active labor.
In highly busy periods, nurses may be required to take additional patients as needed.
Key responsibilities include managing labor, inductions, scheduled and unscheduled C-sections.
Nurses will provide care for patients with various conditions such as hypertension and preeclampsia.
Triage patients as well as manage antepartum patients will also be part of the responsibilities.
Candidates should be proficient in the use of essential equipment.
Skills should include the administration of medications, breastfeeding support, and neonatal resuscitation.
The unit serves neonates and adults and typically has an average daily census of 4 or more.
Candidates will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team for patient care.
This position requires the ability to manage various high-risk deliveries and assist in sterile examinations.
Additional responsibilities include performing various administrative and clinical procedures as needed.
Staffing and scheduling operate on a self-scheduling basis.
Candidates should be prepared to work every third weekend.
