Weekend NICU Nurse

Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Location: Salem, Virginia
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule: 19:00 - 07:00, 3 shifts per week with 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week schedule.
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) who will provide high-quality care to critically ill infants. The ideal candidate will be experienced in stabilizing and caring for neonates requiring advanced interventions.
Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care to critically ill infants, including those requiring ventilation, CPAP, and other advanced support.
Perform procedures such as intubation, umbilical line placement, surfactant administration, and needle decompression.
Administer medications and nutrition via TPN and lipids as per protocol.
Participate in newborn resuscitation efforts and ongoing assessments of patient health.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients and families.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

Current RN licensure in the state of Virginia.
Certifications in BLS and NRP are mandatory.
Experience with IV insertion in preterm or term infants.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
