Caseworker - Social Work

The Social Worker supports students and their families through a compassionate, family-centered, and collaborative approach in an approved private school (APS) setting for students with multiple disabilities and behavioral needs. This position promotes a family-integrative model of care that honors the dignity, strengths, and unique needs of each student and their support network.

Working in close partnership with an interdisciplinary team, the role oversees admissions and case management. The Social Worker also addresses family concerns using a solution-focused approach, advocates for appropriate resources, and maintains accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and education plans.

This position requires a deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and empowerment, as well as the ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Collaborate with school staff to implement and maintain a family-integrative model of care.

Manage a caseload of students and families and connect them to community agencies as appropriate; Write progress notes and maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards and participate in individualized education plan (IEP) meetings to provide information as needed to ensure an appropriate IEP.

Be available and responsive to families, offering flexible meeting times and empathetic communication.

Education/Experience/Skills Requirements Bachelor’s or master’s in social work and valid, current licensure as an LCSW or LSW in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Social Work certification or eligibility to apply for certification; Five (5) years’ experience working in family-centered or interdisciplinary care settings.

Familiarity with the needs and rights of students with multiple disabilities and behavioral needs.

Two (2) years’ experience working with students living with multiple disabilities, including a strong understanding of the safety and communication support required for students with physical disabilities.

Knowledge of teaching methods, curriculum, and education programs designed for students with learning, physical, and behavioral disabilities.

Familiarity and relationships with community agencies that support individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Excellent customer interaction, collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.

Must be able to perform CPR, First Aid, and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols.
