Join us and help run what runs the world.In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive legal advice and support to the fiduciary aspects of ABB's operations in the United States, leveraging your expertise in corporate law, compliance, contract negotiation, and risk management. Responsible for making required corporate legal filings, mitigating legal risks, facilitating corporate governance, supporting the Country Holding Officer and their respective reports and driving business growth and operational speed and agility while maintaining compliance with local laws and regulations.Legal & Fiduciary Oversight: Lead end-to-end accountability for Legal & Integrity fiduciary duties, corporate governance, and compliance for all U.S. legal entities, including corporate secretarial services, regulatory filings, and contractor licensing.Strategic Legal Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to the U.Country Holding Officer and senior management on governance, compliance, risk mitigation, and strategic legal matters impacting business operations, mergers & acquisitions, and “license to operate” requirements.Compliance & Integrity Leadership: Oversee integrity investigations, government contracting compliance, data privacy and protection, cybersecurity, and regulatory certifications; ensure alignment with internal audit, HSE, and risk management standards across all business areas.Cross-Functional Legal Support: Provide expert counsel on contracts, commercial agreements, and shared legal entity matters; harmonize legal processes while supporting BA-specific needs; supervise paralegal staff and collaborate with global Legal & Integrity centers of excellence on specialized topics (IP, antitrust, litigation).S. law school with active bar admission and minimum 12 years of experience in corporate/commercial law, preferably gained in multinational manufacturing / corporate environments and/or top-tier law firms.Strong business-focused legal judgment with experience in process improvement, risk mitigation, and optimization of legal operations.Proficiency in contract review, drafting, and negotiation; and corporate secretarial functions, including filings and compliance.Deep understanding of data privacy and protection laws, U.S. government contracting, contractor licensing, and related regulatory frameworks.Familiarity with finance, treasury, risk management/insurance, and preferred experience in antitrust, IP, and IS/IT-related legal matters.Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.More about us:ABB Motion provides pioneering technology, products, solutions and related services to industrial customers to increase energy efficiency, improve safety and reliability, and maintain precise control over processes.
